Stream Deck 7.6: Infobar Actions for Stream Deck Neo

Stream Deck Neo has a small display below its keys, set between two Touch Points. Until now it showed what Elgato built for it: a clock and page indicators. With Stream Deck 7.6, you decide what goes there.

Infobar actions work like any other action. You drag one onto the Infobar instead of onto a key, and it shows live information while you work. This guide covers what you can put there, how to set it up, and what changed for makers building plugins.

Spotify shows what is playing without you opening the app or checking your phone. Cover art, track name, artist, and an optional progress bar sit on the display, which frees up the keys around it for playback controls. Weather puts current conditions on the display, so you can check whether you need a jacket without opening another tab. Alongside the current temperature, it can show air quality and how the rest of the day is shaping up. Our Weather Plugin for Stream Deck guide covers the rest of its actions.

Calendarius keeps your next meeting in view. It shows what is coming up, when it starts, and how long you have before you need to be there, which is useful if you have ever looked up from what you were doing to find you were already late to a call.

Infobar support is part of Stream Deck SDK, so any plugin can add it. On Elgato Marketplace, filter for plugins built for the Infobar to see what is available.

Before you start, you need Stream Deck 7.6 or later, a Stream Deck Neo, and the plugin you want to use installed from Elgato Marketplace.

1. Update Stream Deck to 7.6 or later.
2. Install the plugin from Elgato Marketplace if you have not already.
3. Select Stream Deck Neo in the device list at the top of the canvas.
4. Find the action you want in the actions list.
5. Drag it onto the Infobar below the keys, the same way you would drop an action on a key.
6. Set it up in the Property Inspector.

The background library now includes backgrounds sized for Stream Deck Neo's Infobar, so you are not cropping an image to fit. If you have not used backgrounds before, our guide on how to add a background and screensaver to Stream Deck walks through it.

From 7.6 onward, your plugin can provide Infobar actions. They work like Stream Deck + dial actions and take a single feedback layout at 232 x 50 pixels.

To get started, install the updated SDK. The SDK documentation has been updated for Infobar actions.

One change to note: the undocumented timerUpdate event has been removed from WebEngine SDK.

Website icons now update whenever the URL changes, not only when you edit it in the Property Inspector.

• Fixed an issue where the app did not always start when set to launch automatically.
• Fixed an issue where Network Dock could disconnect at random.
• (macOS) Fixed an issue where clicking the menu bar item could crash the app on macOS 27.
• (Windows) Fixed an issue, introduced in 7.5.1, where items could not be dragged from File Explorer into Stream Deck and some plugins could not interact with it. This change also means hotkeys may not reach elevated processes, such as some games, again.
• (Windows) Fixed an error message that appeared in the installer when fully uninstalling.
• (Windows) Reduced a periodic spike in system load caused by the scan for installed applications.
