How to Set Up Elgato Conferencing Kit Plus
Conferencing Kit Plus is built to make every video call feel as natural as meeting in person. This guide covers everything you need to set up your Elgato Conferencing Kit Plus.
Before you start, here's everything you'll find inside:
- Elgato Facecam MK.2
- Elgato Prompter
- Wave Desk Stand
- Laptop stand (adjustable, fits up to 16")
- Two braided USB-C cables (60 cm / 24 in and 75 cm / 30 in)
- Allen key and screws for assembly
- Four cable ties
- Cleaning cloth
You'll also receive an email after your order ships with a redemption code for Airtime Camera, which we'll cover later.
- Connect the articulating arm to the weighted base using the two included screws
- Tighten both screws fully with the Allen key
- Loosen the wing nut on Wave Desk Stand's attachment screw and aim it upward
- Screw Prompter onto the thread using the rear mount point, not the mount point under the display
- When Prompter is threaded most of the way on, rotate the locking nut up against Prompter to lock it in place so it won't rotate or come loose
- Expand the laptop stand
- Separate the bottom rails from the laptop base
- Flip out the supports and insert them into the slots in the bottom rails, making sure they're mirrored and even
- The slot you choose adjusts the angle of your laptop
Once expanded, the laptop stand fits cleanly around Wave Desk Stand's base for a tidy setup.
- Plug one of the included USB-C cables into Prompter, and the other into Facecam MK.2. The angled connectors keep both cables flush against the back of Prompter
- Run both cables down to the laptop stand and plug them into the two USB-C ports on the integrated hub labeled 7.5W
- Plug a 100W USB-C power adapter into the PD input port on the hub. The hub passes up to 65W back to your laptop while powering Prompter, Facecam MK.2, and anything else connected
- Connect the hub's integrated USB-C cable to your laptop. That single cable handles data for everything you just plugged in
- Tidy up the cables along Wave Desk Stand with the included silicone cable ties
Position the kit at eye level
- Place the laptop stand in the center of your workspace and rest your laptop on it
- Sit at your desk as you normally would
- Hold Prompter steady, loosen the knob on Wave Desk Stand's elbow, and raise or lower Prompter until Facecam MK.2 is roughly at eye level
- Tighten the elbow when the height feels right, then adjust the angle on Prompter itself so it sits level
Pro tip: Eye level matters. Too low and the camera looks up at you, which gives viewers a chin-forward angle. Eye level keeps you looking present and natural on every call.
- Head to elgato.com/downloads and install Camera Hub. It's the free app that controls both Prompter and Facecam MK.2
- Once Camera Hub is open, switch Prompter to Display Mode. Prompter will now behave like a second monitor connected to your laptop, ready for your meeting window
- Dial in white balance and exposure on Facecam MK.2, or leave them on Auto. Click Save when you're done
For more on what Prompter can do and how Camera Hub works, see our guide on Elgato Prompter.
Conferencing Kit Plus includes a lifetime subscription to Airtime Camera, plus a one-year subscription to the rest of the Airtime suite. Airtime Camera gives your webcam superpowers, including branded looks, backgrounds, lower-thirds, and seamless reactions during calls.
