From Spawn to Extract: How Stream Deck can enhance your Tarkov experience

Stream Deck is a programmable media controller that lets you assign icons and actions to physical buttons for instant access. In Tarkov terms, it’s like turning complicated keybinds into clean, labeled gear slots - no confusion, no misfires. Whether you’re looting, fighting, or extracting, Stream Deck can keep your raids calm and get you out alive.

Escape From Tarkov offers a realistic feel to its combat and interactions, which are accompanied by a wide range of keyboard controls and various mixed key presses. While they can be changed and adjusted, we can make it easy to map them to Stream Deck keys with the Hotkey action, so you don't have to hunt for the proper key press.

Every player's nightmare, the weapon malfunction. The default hotkey for clearing a weapon malfunction is "L" to inspect the weapon, followed by "Shift+T" to clear it. We can map that to a single Stream Deck keypress with Key Logic. One press inspects, then press and hold to clear the weapon.

As we have already bound "Shift + T" to the weapons malfunction hotkey above, simply holding down that Stream Deck key will check the chambered round when there's no malfunction.

By default, checking how many rounds remain in your weapon requires pressing "Left Alt + T", which takes your hand off of WASD. Mapping that to a Stream Deck key is easy and can keep your movement hand where it's supposed to be.

When the fighting intensifies, dropping your backpack to reduce encumbrance can be lifesaving. By default, the key press is double-tapping "Z". You can remap it to a key that isn't used, such as "J", and then use the Hotkey action to map it to Stream Deck.

With two different types of bleeds in the game, the difference between life and death can be attributed to when you get that bandage/tourniquet applied. Mapping both heals to the number "4" key, and Hotkey actions, you can map a light bleed bandage to a single tap, and a heavy bleed tourniquet to press and hold by binding this keybind from Press to Press and Release inside the game.

Specific voice lines are mapped from F1-F12. We can make it easier by mapping all the voice lines to Hotkey actions on Stream Deck, so you know exactly what communication is going out to friendly or enemy squads.

While Stream Deck requires you to tap a key with your finger, Stream Deck Pedal ensures that your hands are always in the correct position. Just like Stream Deck or Stream Deck XL, you can map hotkeys to each of the three pedals.

You can even map leaning left and right to the pedals, getting that perfect angle.
