Meet the Marketplace Maker: SideshowFX

SideshowFX has built one of the largest catalogs on the Elgato Marketplace, with close to 300 products across profiles, icon packs, and screensavers. His top-selling profile, for DaVinci Resolve, also happens to be his very first.

Behind SideshowFX is a small team, led by a vision for how creatives work. When asked how he approaches a new piece of software, SideshowFX mentioned that he likes to absorb as much as he can about the software to make sure he's giving it the best experience.

SideshowFX: "We'll do things like watch videos and try and understand how, like training videos and how they're being used. A lot of times you can follow the way the software itself is laid out, because they've already kind of done part of the hard work for you in terms of organization."

But no layout is meant to be final. Every profile SideshowFX builds is designed to be reshaped by the person using it.
Before SideshowFX existed as a brand, its creator was a freelance video editor in broadcast television. Clients often worked against the clock, so when the first Stream Deck launched, it clicked as a tool that could keep up with the job. He built a DaVinci Resolve profile for his own editing work and started bringing it with him to every job. Other editors noticed, and started asking about it too.

That early DaVinci Resolve profile is the foundation everything else was built on, and it remains one of SideshowFX's most popular products today. It brings timeline control, Fusion FX adjustments, and lighting controls into a single layout, giving editors the same speed advantage its creator once built for himself out of necessity.

SideshowFX: "I put up a Stream Deck profile and shared it out there for DaVinci Resolve, because at that time I was working with it and it was getting a lot of interest. It was just a little side hustle while I was editing. But it just kept on growing."

That same instinct, watching how editors work and building around it, carried into the rest of the catalog.

SideshowFX: "In all our packs, we always say, please customize it to how you like to work. Even if we're experts at something, how I'd like to edit, for example, is going to be slightly different than somebody else."
