Spotify actions on Stream Deck give you simple, reliable music control that fits naturally into your setup.
Earlier versions of the plugin covered playback, volume, and basic controls. Spotify plugin now also covers your library: saving tracks, adding to playlists, playing collections, searching, and managing your queue, all without leaving whatever you’re focused on.
Once Spotify is added to your Stream Deck layout, these actions can live on keys or dials, giving you direct access without opening the Spotify app or leaving full-screen views.
One press plays, pauses, or skips a track on your current Spotify device. It’s the one you’ll reach for most, especially mid-call, when muting music matters more than picking the next song.
A single tap turns shuffle on or off. Leave it on for long sessions where you want variety, and switch it off the moment you want an album to play the way it was meant to.
Cycle repeat through off, playlist, and single track. Handy for looping one song on purpose, or just making sure a playlist doesn’t run out mid-session.
Set your own step size and Stream Deck adjusts Spotify’s volume in exactly those increments. Small steps for headphones, bigger jumps for speakers, whatever matches how you actually listen.
A tap saves whatever’s playing to your Liked Songs. No need to pull out your phone or switch windows to find the heart icon.
Works the same way for a specific playlist instead of Liked Songs. Set the target playlist once, then tap the key any time that track is playing to add it.
One tap starts a playlist, album, artist, or podcast from your library. It gets you straight to whatever you already come back to most, no digging through Spotify to find it.
For everything else, save a search term and Stream Deck runs it whenever you tap the key. A genre or mood you’d normally type into Spotify (“calm, late night,” “top german hits”) becomes a one-press shortcut instead.

On a key, this mainly works as a status display, though pressing it plays the next track in the queue. For actually browsing and picking from the queue, use the Multimedia dial action instead.
Tap once to start a countdown that pauses playback when it runs out. Tap again to add more time, or to stop it early if you change your mind.
On Stream Deck + and GALLEON 100 SD, Spotify can be controlled using the Multimedia action on a dial.

To control Spotify with Stream Deck, Spotify app needs to be installed and running. Stream Deck follows your active session, so music needs to actually be playing on your computer or phone first.
If you're using Spotify Connect to send audio to another speaker, Stream Deck keeps working as long as Spotify itself is still running on your computer.
