Game development often involves repeating the same actions across game engines, code editors, art tools, and project folders.
Stream Deck can place those actions on labeled keys and dials, giving you a dedicated control panel for your development workflow. You can build your own setup with standard Stream Deck actions or download tools from Elgato Marketplace that connect with Unity, Blender, Godot, Unreal Engine, and other development software.
Several actions included with the Stream Deck app can handle common tasks:
Unity Integration creates a direct connection between Stream Deck and the Unity Editor.
It can be used for basic editor controls such as entering Play Mode or pausing a project, but it can also execute Unity menu commands, change exposed properties, and invoke custom C# methods.
The connection can work in both directions. Stream Deck can send commands to Unity, while Unity can update a key’s title, icon, value, or state.
Install the free Unity Integration plugin from Elgato Marketplace and the corresponding Stream Deck Integration package from the Unity Asset Store.
Game development does not happen entirely inside an engine. Artists may spend a large part of their workflow modeling, animating, or preparing assets in Blender.
DeckMania Blender Free connects Blender with Stream Deck and provides actions for running Blender Python scripts, selecting tools, and adjusting values with Stream Deck + dials.
Install DeckMania Blender Free from Elgato Marketplace and the companion application from the DeckMania website, which handles linking Blender with the Stream Deck plugin.
Godot Utilities lets Stream Deck communicate with a running Godot project.
Stream Deck keys can emit signals or change scenes inside the application. Developers can use this to trigger gameplay events, move between test scenes, activate debugging utilities, or quickly demonstrate different parts of a project.
Install Godot Utilities from Elgato Marketplace and the matching Elgato Stream Deck Integration from the Godot Asset Library.
The Unreal Engine Shortcut Profile + Icon Pack for Stream Deck and Stream Deck XL includes 134 shortcuts across nine categories. Its controls cover editing, Sequencer, Play Mode, debugging, viewport navigation, cameras, view modes, Blueprints, transforms, and help resources.
The profile also includes controls for performance statistics, screenshots, time adjustments, and other console commands.
Download the profile from Elgato Marketplace.
If you primarily work in Unreal Editor for Fortnite, the Unreal Engine for Fortnite Profile provides a more focused layout.
It includes one-touch access to selection, translation, rotation, scaling, snapping, camera angles, perspective modes, lighting options, and other frequently used UEFN controls.
Download the profile from Elgato Marketplace.
Stream Deck can support several parts of a game-development pipeline, whether you are testing a scene in Unity, preparing assets in Blender, triggering events in Godot, or navigating Unreal Engine.
Start with a few commands you use every day. As your project grows, you can add engine integrations, Marketplace profiles, custom scripts, and application-specific pages that match the way you work.
