Control Microsoft Teams with Stream Deck

Microsoft Teams has a lot of keyboard shortcuts for meetings, but remembering them mid-call is another story. With Stream Deck, you can map the ones you actually use to dedicated keys so actions like mute, camera, and screen sharing are always visible and one tap away.

Teams used to have its own plugin on Elgato Marketplace with direct integration, live status indicators, and reaction controls on your keys.

In December 2025, that plugin was removed after Microsoft discontinued the third-party API it relied on. The API-powered features like sending reactions and seeing real-time mic or camera status on your keys are no longer available.

The good news is that Teams supports a solid set of keyboard shortcuts for its most important meeting actions, and Stream Deck can send any keyboard shortcut with a single tap of a key.

Setting up hotkeys takes just a few steps per action. Once configured, each key sends the exact keyboard shortcut Teams expects, so you get the same result as pressing the keys manually, just faster and without looking away from your meeting.

1. Open Stream Deck app.
2. In the actions panel on the right, find the System category.
3. Drag the Hotkey action onto an empty key.
4. Click the key to open its settings.
5. In the Hotkey field, click the input box and press the keyboard shortcut you want to assign (for example, Ctrl+Shift+M for mute on Windows).
6. Give the key a clear title so you can identify it at a glance.
7. Repeat for each Teams shortcut you want to add.

Each key now sends the assigned shortcut whenever you tap it, as long as Teams is running and in the foreground.
