Wave Go works as soon as you plug the receiver into your computer. With Wave Link, you can send your voice to separate mixes for your headphones and your stream or call, and clean up background noise with Voice Focus. This guide walks through downloading Wave Link, adding Wave Go, adjusting its settings, and building your first mix.
Wave Link is free audio software for Windows and macOS that works with almost any microphone. It lets you build up to five separate mixes, so what you hear in your headphones can be different from what your stream or call hears. Every audio source in Wave Link, like your mic, a game, or music, is its own input, and you can add effects to any of them. On your mic, Voice Focus reduces background noise like keyboard clicks and room noise.
The Device tab shows a level meter and a Mute control. Speak at your normal volume and watch the meter to confirm Wave Link is picking up your voice. You can also mute with a single press of the button on the transmitter.
The Effects tab is where you’ll find Voice Focus. Wave Go picks up sound from all directions, which works well on the go but also catches keyboard clicks and room noise at a desk. Turn on Voice Focus to reduce that background noise and keep your voice clear.
Wave Go app on your phone controls your mic level (gain), which sets how loud your voice comes in. It also handles noise cancellation, battery level, and firmware updates. You won’t find these settings in Wave Link.
Note: Turn off Wave Go’s built-in noise cancellation when using Voice Focus. You can switch it off with the button on the receiver or in your phone’s Wave Go app.
Wave Link sends each input to one or more mixes. A simple setup uses two: Personal Mix for what you hear, and Stream Mix for what your audience or call hears.
From here, you can add game, music, or chat audio as inputs and balance them separately for each mix.
Once your mixes are set, you can shape your sound further with plugins from Elgato Marketplace. Learn how in installing audio effects from Marketplace.
