A Stream Deck dial is useful on its own, but Dial Stack makes it more flexible by letting one dial handle multiple actions. Then, by pressing the dial, you can cycle through each action in the stack and adjust the selected control by turning the dial.
Think of it like a folder for your dial. One dial can control several related settings without taking over your entire layout.
Dial Stack only works on Stream Decks with a dial, such as Stream Deck +, Stream Deck + XL, or GALLEON 100 SD
1. Open the Stream Deck app.
2. There are two ways to create a Dial Stack:
3. When you create a Dial Stack, the editor will pop up automatically. To edit in the future, double-click on the Dial Stack dial. Drag the actions you want into the stack.
Once your stack is set up, press the dial to move between actions, then turn the dial to adjust the selected action.
Since you're now switching between Dial Actions by pressing on the dial, any Actions that had an extra function besides turning the dial will need to be triggered by tapping on the Touch Strip above the dial.
Dial Stacks work with actions that support Stream Deck + dials. Depending on your setup and installed plugins, you might use them with apps like:
Not every plugin supports dials, so only compatible actions will appear when you are working in the Dials section.
Dial Stacks are useful when you want more control without spreading related settings across multiple dials. That keeps your setup cleaner and leaves your other dials available for different workflows. Here are some use cases.
Create a Dial Stack for your audio mix. You could include Wave Link mixes, microphone, headphones, music, games, browsers, or voice chat volume. This is useful for streamers, podcasters, and anyone who adjusts audio levels throughout the day.
Use a Dial Stack to control your lighting setup. One dial could adjust brightness and color temperature without having to use two dials. This makes it easy to fine-tune your lights for streaming, recording, video calls, or late-night work.
For Elgato webcams you can group controls like zoom, exposure, contrast, or other supported camera properties.
Create a Dial Stack for live production controls. You might use one dial to switch between audio, lighting, and camera adjustments while keeping your Stream Deck keys free for scenes, sound effects, chat commands, and other actions.
You can use them for system volume, media controls, app-specific shortcuts, or any dial-compatible action that helps your workflow.
The pool of possible actions only grows as you add more plugins. Head to Elgato Marketplace to see what's available.
Try setting up your first Dial Stack and see how it makes Stream Deck even more flexible.
