DVB-T Receiver Prices Drop: EyeTV for DTT only 79,99 Euro and TerraTec announces Cinergy T USB XE with EyeTV Lite for 59,95 Euro

Munich, January 8, 2007 - Watching DVB-T television on the Macintosh has become even more affordable. Effective immediately, Elgato is selling the award-winning USB 2.0 Stick EyeTV for DTT for 79,99 Euro, a price reduction of about 20 percent. This offer includes the acclaimed EyeTV 2 software by Elgato. TerraTec will ship the USB 2.0 Stick Cinergy T USB XE for only 59,95 Euro in February, which will include the new EyeTV Lite software by Elgato.

EyeTV for DTT is a receiver in USB stick format with an aluminium look, the perfect companion for MacBook, MacBook Pro, and all desktop Macintoshes. Included are the acclaimed EyeTV 2 software (CD-ROM), PDF user’s guide, USB extender cable, as well as a portable antenna for digital terrestrial television in areas where the DVB-T broadcast infrastructure is designed for “Portable Indoor” reception. The EyeTV remote control is available separately in the Elgato online shop.

With Cinergy T USB XE at 59,95 Euro, TerraTec has announced the lowest price for a DVB-T stick for the Macintosh. The DVB-T solution for everyone includes the new EyeTV Lite software by Elgato. Heiko Meertz, TerraTec’s General Manager, says that “we can finally offer Macintosh users a high quality DVB-T adapter combined with powerful software at a price comparable to our Windows solutions.”

EyeTV Lite contains the core functionality of the award-winning EyeTV 2 software to watch and record television on the Macintosh. EyeTV Lite fully supports time shifting: shows that are in progress can be paused, resumed, fast forwarded and rewound. Recordings can be scheduled manually or with the integrated electronic programming guide. EyeTV Lite supports HDTV, Dolby and DVB radio (in regions where HDTV/Dolby/DVB radio is being broadcast.) Videotext, closed captions and DVB subtitles are also supported in EyeTV Lite. EyeTV Lite can be controlled from your Macintosh as well as from your sofa: use a remote control (either the EyeTV remote control or the Apple Remote, not included) to activate the full screen menu. Elgato’s CEO Dr. Markus Fest says that “EyeTV Lite lets our partners create attractive bundles for everyone interested in starting to watch television on their Macintosh at a low price.”

Users who purchase a TV adapter bundled with EyeTV Lite and would like more functionality can upgrade to Elgato Systems’ EyeTV 2 software for 49 Euros. In addition to all features included with EyeTV Lite, EyeTV 2 offers many functions to edit recorded movies, export them to all important video formats for post processing in other applications (including the iApps), automatic burning of VCDs and DVDs via Roxio Toast (not included), export to iPod, a programs window with favorite channel lists and playlists, and more.
