EyeTV 310 for PayTV now available on the Mac (INT)
Elgato upgrades DVB satellite product with Common Interface
MACEXPO - COLOGNE, Germany - June 17, 2004 – Elgato Systems today announced the release of the EyeTV 310 digital video recorder with Common Interface (CI). Based on the proven technology of EyeTV 300 for free-to-air digital satellite television, this product is also designed to receive PayTV on your Mac.
With EyeTV 310, users can watch, record, timeshift, edit and archive digital satellite TV in remarkable picture and sound quality. The product includes a tuner for digital satellite television (DVB-S). To receive PayTV via EyeTV 310, users only need a CAM (Common Access Module) and a PayTV subscription.

Users will also be able to enjoy Euro1080
(http://www.euro1080.tv), the first European high-definition television (HDTV) channel that began broadcasting January 1st, 2004. Euro1080 broadcasts exclusively throughout Europe, distributing high-quality content such as sports, pop/rock, opera, classical music etc. in HDTV format.
EyeTV 310 allows users to:
- Watch television on their Mac.
- Pause, rewind or fast forward through television as they are watching.
- Record television to the Mac's hard drive, creating an archive of their favorite shows.
- Program EyeTV through the manual control panel or Electronic Program Guide from tvtv. Users can even program EyeTV remotely via the Internet.
- Edit out unwanted content using EyeTV's built-in editor that easily identifies where programs and scenes start and stop.
- Archive programs to DVD or VideoCD to play anywhere on most standard DVD players.**
Pricing & Availability
EyeTV 310 is available for 349,00 EURO in select retail stores on June 28th, in countries where the DVB standard is supported. For a list of distributors, visit www.elgato.com. EyeTV 300 for free-to-air satellite reception will continue to be available, at a new price of 279,00 EURO.
A Macintosh computer with minimum PowerPC® G4 500Mhz or G5 processor and built-in FireWire port; Mac OS X 10.2.8 or higher and 256MB of RAM (512MB recommended); and approximately 2GB of hard disk space per hour of recorded TV. An Internet connection is required to use tvtv, EyeTV's optional Electronic Program Guide. EyeTV 310 requires a satellite dish with digital or universal LNB (not included).
**A CD/DVD recorder and Roxio's Toast 6 Titanium software are required to create DVDs or VideoCDs.
