EyeTV 2.3 Supports Hauppauge's Hybrid-TV and DVB-T Devices
Munich/San Francisco, July 26, 2006 - Elgato released an update for its award-winning EyeTV software today, expanding software support for Hauppauge's TV solutions. The use of Hauppauge's WinTV-HVR-900 hardware with Elgato's EyeTV 2.3 software enables reception of not only analog TV via cable or antenna, but also digital TV via DVB-T. EyeTV 2.3 also supports Hauppauge's WinTV NOVA-T Stick, a DVB-T tuner. Both products are ultra-compact and mobile: perfect for people on the go.
In addition, Elgato's EyeTV 2.3 software now brings the intuitive functionality and user-friendly interface cherished by Mac users to the handy and inexpensive USB products from Hauppauge. The WinTV-HVR-900 stick enables users to switch between analog and DVB-T programming. This device even makes it possible to create joint favorites lists, regardless of TV standard!
You can't go wrong with a hybrid TV tuner and EyeTV 2.3! After all, the gradual conversion to digital television (DVB-T) is scheduled to last until 2010 and analog reception will remain the norm wherever the transition has not yet taken place. This product innovation from Hauppauge and Elgato can handle analog and digital reception - anywhere, anytime.
"Our WinTV USB-Sticks have won many awards in the Windows market and are now finally available to Macintosh users. The hybrid version offers broad coverage of analog and digital television and is an exceptionally useful solution for mobile users. Macintosh customers can enjoy the comfort and functionality of Elgato's user-friendly EyeTV software”, said Klaus Mähleke, Vice President EMEA, Hauppauge Computer Works.
Both TV receivers – the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-900 and the Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-T (DVB-T) – may be purchased at electronics retailers and specialty stores.
The EyeTV 2.3 version of Elgato's software may be purchased at specialty stores and at Elgato's Online Store (www.elgato.com) for 79 euros starting today. Existing EyeTV 2 users can download the update free of charge from Elgato's website.
